Get Active Against the War! - River Falls
Mobilizing Meeting for a National Day of Protest, October 28th
Tuesday, September 19th
7:00pm
Room 139
Rodli Commons
University of Wisconsin, River Falls
While US public opinion has turned decisively against the war in Iraq, even many “anti-war” Democrats in Congress vote through billions for Bush’s brutal campaign to control regional oil supplies. Leading politicians from both parties backed Israel’s horrific destruction of Lebanon. It appears clear that, campaign rhetoric aside, the 2006 elections will do nothing to fundamentally change US foreign policy. The anti-war movement needs to redouble its efforts to mobilze wider layers of workers and youth into an independent mass movement capable of forcing the politicians to end their war for oil and empire. Join us for a mobilizing meeting to discuss the way forward and build for upcoming actions.
Guest Speakers:
Philip Locker: editor of Justice newspaper
Rami Eitan: Israeli anti-war organizer with Maavak Socialisti
Following a short discussion, we’ll map out an anti-war action plan for October and break into sub-committees to carry it out.
