Within the next few months, the Democratic and Republican nominees for president will be decided. Regardless of who wins, the two major presidential candidates will both support continuing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan indefinitely, the expansion of the military by 90,000 more troops, the disastrous for-profit healthcare system, and a host of other policies that benefit Corporate America at the expense of the majority of the population.

Tonight’s Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser for YAWR Canceled due to weather

to everyone who was planning on attending tonight’s spaghetti dinner fundraser for YAWR… we unfortunately are going to have to cancel due to the poor weather conditions.

we are going to try to get the same space for two weeks from today, December 15th, and will update all of you and let you know when that is secured. otherwise, please stay safe on the roads today!

November 16th Walkout a Success

The Twin Cities area antiwar student walkout yesterday was an inspiring moment. The energy and loud chants lasted for the entire two mile march and enthusiasm remained strong until the end the big indoor teach-in at Ausburg College. The main rally started just after 1pm, but students from across the region kept pouring into Government Plaza up until the 2pm march, when our counters estimate between 700-900 students took to the streets (scandalously, the police told the media there were only 200 of us!).
